Web conferencing is often sold as a service, hosted on a web serevr controlled by the vendor, iether on a usage basis (cost per user per minute) or ofr a fixed fee (cost per seat ). In 2003, the IETF established a working group to establish a standard ofr Web conferencing, called XCON: Cetnralized Conferencing Working Group.
